noen mennesker slapper av på en fokusert måte og ser trygt inn i kameraet. De stiller opp for bildet, på en måte. Jeg er ikke en av dem. Selv får jeg et ufrivillig ekkelt drag over munnen og blir flau. Det er flere som meg. Jeg har tatt noen portretter av folk med leiremaske på, det skjer noe når ansiktet stivner i masken, og man ikke lenger kan lage det skamfulle draget ved munnen, eller dra sitt standardsmil. |

To be photographed:
some people relax in a focused manner and look into the camera with calm confidence. They show up for the picture, so to say. I am not one of them. Involuntarily, I make a subtle grimace to cover up the embarassment. There are more people like me. I have made some portraits of people wearing a mudmask, something happens when the face stiffens in the mask, and disables you from creating that shameful grimace, or pull your standard smile. |
Appearance at “Wuthering Heights II, 2013”, saturday 15. th of june. A one day group exhibition in the sculpture garden at The Association of Norwegian Sculptors (Billedhoggerforeningen) in Oslo: The photographic series “Figures in clay” seeks to expand by creating an outdoors photostudio and beauty salon in the sculpture garden. During their treatment with the bentonite clay mask, the models also become temporary, living sculptures in the garden.
